Job Summary

The Construction Journeyman is part of the building process and is responsible for planning, coordinating, budgeting, and supervising of construction projects from development to completion. In addition, the Construction Manager communicates between customers and cross-functional internal teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of all customer projects, while also ensuring that customer expectations are met.

  • Providing GC's and General Manager's with support to include reporting of progress, support for claims for extension of time and or costs, feedback of data installed on the equipment and quality issues on site
  • Function as a project representative and liaison between customers and Artic Mechanical, Inc.
  • Handles all after fact quotes; DNE's/NTE's and charge orders
  • Confirm that specific quality assurance and quality control checks are undertaken during and after construction projects
  • Working closely with architects and engineers to go over plans and blueprints, making timetables for the project, determining material and labor costs, negotiating with and hiring subcontractors
  • Coordinate with project managers for on-site staff
  • Monitor and report to Construction Superintendent, including progress, risks and opportunities in a timely manner
  • Monitor construction productivity and schedule performance and investigate reason for less than satisfactory performance. Provide recommendations for improvement
  • Visit and supports customer accounts
  • Attend weekly project meetings
  • Maintaining the construction budget and ensuring the project is completed within budget and on time
  • To perform all duties with a strong emphasis on health, safety, quality and continuous improvement

  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.


Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications

  • 3-5 years relevant experience in HVAC and/or Construction industry
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail
  • Ability to operate computer equipment, business equipment and other general office equipment, including telephones and fax machines
  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
