HVAC Field Inspector

 

Job Summary

 

Under limited direction, the job of the HVAC Field Inspector is to assure company field personnel are delivering quality service and professional work standards according to Artic Mechanical's standards and policies. Inspection of Service and Maintenance field workers for safety compliance at job sites and customer locations, and performs related duties as assigned.

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Performs quality assurance inspections and reviews of work performed by field service personnel to ensure professional work and satisfactory safety performance by the field workers.
  • Communication liaison between operations management concerning HVAC standards, appropriateness of time spent, quality of work and the safety of personnel conducting that work.
  • Will be responsible for reports and inspection checklists to be conducted at each site visit.
  • Performs safety compliance site visits and reviews company worker vehicle and work site safety compliance.
  • Enforces safety rules, policies and work procedures.
  • Ensures Company vehicles are maintained to Company standards for safety, maintenance and vehicle codes.
  • Participates in training meetings, new employee onboarding training and maintains records of all time spent on inspection work related tasks.
  • Keep the Operations Manager and Safety Director informed about site issues found that may impact client relations, and the safety of workers at that site.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the safe and effective functioning of the service and construction division.

 

Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications

 

  • HVAC Technician certification.
  • 5+ years experience in Commercial HVAC install, repair, or maintenance.
  • High school diploma or HVAC trade school degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • NATE Certified
  • Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to read technical diagrams and instructions and apply information
  • Calibrate HVAC and refrigeration systems and ensure appropriate temperatures are maintained
  • Handle different refrigerants and oils
  • Test electrical circuits or components to determine necessary repairs
  • Connect heating or air conditioning test equipment to water, or refrigerant sources to test circuits.
  • Comply with all applicable standards, policies, or procedures, such as safety procedures or the maintenance of a clean work area.
  • OSHA 30 certificate.
  • Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills, computer literate and ability to communicate through email.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team based environment
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Strong multi-tasking, organizational skills.
  • Work is performed at off site client locations, where access to roofs, extensive ladder use, vehicle use, walking, standing, stooping is required.

 

Working Conditions

 

  • Clean driving record
  • Some work days may require odd hours and emergency repairs
  • Work nights and weekends
  • Ability to climb ladders to roofs and work in small spaces
