Job Summary


The Field Supervisor is a member of the Supervisory staff who is responsible for a specific and assigned service area.  The Field Supervisor oversees and coordinates activities with service technicians and provides leadership to technicians making sure the work is accomplished as planned.


Essential Functions


  • Assists Area Service Manager with training personnel, and recommending applicants for employment or for discipline, termination or retention
  • Assist with Technician support calls coming from the field
  • Provides daily/weekly tech updates for the Service Manager
  • Responds to Service Calls in all areas serviced by Artic mechanical
  • Works with Dispatch to track call backs and resolve call backs
  • Communicating with Technicians on a daily basis to track progress
  • Is a role model, complies with all Company policies and procedures
  • Maintains a professional personal appearance and maintains a clean and organized work vehicle
  • Administering company policies, inspecting safety standards, identifying problems and proposing solutions
  • Teaches and enforces safety regulations
  • Ensures proper equipment and supplies are available in their Team to complete various jobs (i.e., proper truck stock)
  • Ensures all safety regulations are followed
  • Monitor jobs to insure quality and compliance with job standards
  • Works to elevate technician skill level and fosters good employee morale
  • Monitor field operations daily to ensure efficiency and quality
  • Help with estimates and costs of various jobs in their Team
  • Will periodically go to customer locations to assess customer complaints or call back issues with that customer and perform quality inspections
  • Performs duties of an HVAC/Refrigeration service technician
  • Assist the dispatch team when the Service Manager is not available
  • Assist Service Coordinator with any customer service issues
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications


  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Extensive experience and/or knowledge of the industry required
  • Experience and/or knowledge of HVAC equipment recommended
  • Ability to perform advanced level maintenance related tasks on HVAC equipment
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to give clear direction and respond to inquiries
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to focus on attention to detail
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management, executive leadership and support staff, as well as with employees
  • Problem solving and conflict management skills recommended
  • Previous experience in the area of Supervision strongly recommended, but not required
  • EPA Universal Certification
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals


Working Conditions


  • Require driving to work and customer sites
  • Ability to climb ladders to roofs and work in small spaces
  • Some work days may require odd hours and emergency repairs
  • Clean driving record
